Dorothy M. Sutton

Dorothy M. Sutton, 92 of Hopewell, Virginia passed away on July 24, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Marshall H. “Mule” Sutton, father John Moore, mother Mattie Temple Moore and sister Virginia Elmore. Mrs. Sutton worked for Allied Chemical for over twenty years and was the owner and operator of Sutton’s Produce in Hopewell for numerous years and a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church in Hopewell. She loved crocheting, knitting, avid doll collector, and loved to cook. Mrs. Sutton was survived by her daughter, Joyce Phillips and husband, Richard; sons, Allen Sutton and wife, Barbara and Robert L. Sutton and wife, Cynthia; grandchildren, Lane and wife, Lourdus, Lance and wife, Jennifer, Sonya and husband, Tom, Kim Jackson, Adam and wife, Leigh, ReNae and husband, Ted, Duane and wife, Carol; she had sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; step brother, Joe Hobbs and a dedicated care taker Helen Jackson. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Appomattox Cemetery with Reverend Steve King officiating. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
