Dorothy Seymour Story

Dorothy Seymour Story, 88, of Dinwiddie County, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie "Buck" Seymour and Thelma C. Seymour; her beloved husband of 50 years, Ray J. Story; her brothers, Lloyd "Bubba" Seymour and Jerry Seymour Sr.; and her precious dog, Ladybug.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Leslie (Debbie) Nunnally and Jerry (Penny) Nunnally; her daughters, Lisa Cates (Greg) and Wendy Travis (Noel); and her sister, Juanita York.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Daniel Nunnally, Robert Nunnally, Matthew Nunnally, Travis Cates (Maegan), Sara Travis, and Sandra Bricker (Jim); and five great-grandchildren, Daniel Nunnally Jr., Kaitlin Nunnally, Hailee Nunnally, Henslee Nunnally, and Magnolia Cates.

Dorothy was a graduate of Dinwiddie High School, Class of 1955. She was a devout Christian who cherished time spent with her family and pets. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, watching birds, and listening to music, especially Elvis.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Southlawn Memorial Park. Following the service, family and friends are invited to Jerry and Penny Nunnally's home. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

Dorothy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
