Dorothy Gayle Slade

Dorothy Gayle Slade, 88, born in Hopewell, VA, to the late Edgar and Annie Hudson, died on Monday, December 30, 2024. She was a devoted woman of God and wonderful mother to her four sons. In addition to her late parents, Mrs. Slade was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Furr; her son, Ronnie Broughton; her husband, Bobby Ray Broughton; her husband, Clayton Burge; and her husband, Robert Slade. She is survived by her sons, Donnie Broughton (Kathy), Jerry Broughton (Marsha Lowe), and Anthony Broughton (Tracy); her brother, Julius Hudson; and by her step-children, Linda Thompson (Mike), Richard Burge, and MaryAnne Miller (David); along with seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be at 2:00 pm, with a service following at 3:00 pm, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Abundant Life Church, 6500 Middle Road, Prince George, VA. A private burial will be held at a later date.
