Dorothy Dudley Scarberry, 78, formerly of Chatham County, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Hopewell, VA. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Chesterfield Chapter #851, the AARP, and an active current member of Liberty Baptist Church. Mrs. Scarberry is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lee Scarberry; and her parents, Seaton Otha and Avie Mae Carpenter Dudley. She is survived by her son, John Patrick Eubanks and his wife, Valerie; her daughters, Dorothy Erin Moore and her husband, Randy, and Robin Shannon Wedo; grandchildren, Lindsey Rae Eubanks, John Patrick Eubanks II, Elaynna Avie Wedo, Chase Adrian Wedo, Chance Anthony Wedo; step-children, Bonnie Hayes, Wanda Jenson, Billy Scarberry, and Shirley Pitchenik; sister, Jean Williams; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Christian Chapel Church in Chatham County, NC with the Rev. Phil Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Christian Chapel Church Cemetery. Condolences may be registered online at www.jtmorriss.com .
