Doris Ann Link Harrison

September 16, 1939 — February 8, 2015

Doris Ann Link Harrison, 75, of Dinwiddie County, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, 2015. A wonderful, loving, selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and believer, she will be deeply missed by many. She was born September 16, 1939 in Crewe, VA. Mrs. Harrison was a faithful member of Western Heights Baptist Church and lovingly served on many committees over the years, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She traveled to places as far away as Canada on mission trips spreading the word of her Lord Jesus Christ and spent hours on her knees praying for many. On November 10, 1958 she married the love of her life, Leonard Franklin Harrison, Sr. They were married for over 51 years before the Lord called her dear soul mate home. She helped her husband establish Produce Center #1 grocery store in 1961. Doris enjoyed home-making and providing a loving home environment to her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, studying her Bible and meeting the needs and wants of her family and friends. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Lee Link, her mother, Annie Gray Ozmore Link, her husband, Leonard Franklin Harrison, Sr., and her brother, Marvin Link. She is survived by her four sons, Leonard F. Harrison, Jr. and his wife, Marie, David E. Harrison, Randy W. Harrison and his wife, Teresa, and Bruce E. Harrison, Sr. and his wife, Keddy; a daughter, Dianne Harrison Barton and her husband, Dave, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Link; sisters, Delores Bredemeier and Patricia Baggett, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, at Western Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Dundalow officiating. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Western Height Baptist Church (Mission Fund-Annie Armstrong) 24416 Cox Road, N. Dinwiddie, VA 23803.
