Donna Colleen Nangle, 53, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011. She was born in Pensacola, FL, but lived in Arlington, VA for most of her life. She was a proud graduate of the Wakefield High School in Arlington and went on to receive her Associates Degree. Donnaâ??s 30 year career with the federal government began as a mail clerk for the Department of the Navy (The Pentagon). After 15 years of service and attaining the grade of GS 13, she accepted a position as a Management Analyst with the Department of Education NIDRR/OSERS, where she remained until her retirement in March, 2011. She was married July 17, 2010 on top of Mt. Graylock, the highest peak in Massachusetts. A history enthusiast, Donna was active in Civil War re-enactments with the 20th Maine (Maine Camp and Hospital) and the 28th Massachusetts groups. Her interests also included old houses and reading. Most importantly, she was always concerned about helping others, often neglecting herself. She was preceded in death by her father, Ira L. Nangle. Survivors include her husband, Paul C. Penrod, her mother, Lois Pandle Nangle, and her half-sister, Wanda Manini. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Her cremated remains will be interred in Cheshire, MA, in view of the mountain top where she was married. Condolences may be registered at
