Donald Paul Vtipil Sr., 85 of Prince George, passed away on Thursday February 25, 2016. Don was preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Sulc Vtipil; his loving wife, Gladys Vtipil; sister, Anna Sedivy; and his brothers, Dan Vtipil, Joseph Vtipil, and John Vtipil. Don retired from Allied Chemical as a lab technician after 32 years of service. He was a longtime member of Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church where he was a member of Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church Choir. Don has been a member of Prince George Volunteer Fire Department Company 1 for over fifty years where he served as Past President and was a caller for Bingo at the fire department for many years. Don was an avid bowler and outstanding fast pitch softball player and liked wood working, carving, and hunting. Don loved to see it snow and carried on the family tradition of wine making. He is survived by his children, Donna Vtipil, Laura Vtipil, Don Vtipil Jr. and his wife, Debby, David Vtipil and his wife, Melanie, Tonya Moore and her husband, Jamie; his grandchildren, Amanda Vtipilson and her husband, CeJae, Andrea Rankin and her husband, William, Emma Vtipil, Hailey Vtipil, Anna Vtipil, Lisa Waraska, Brad Mitchell, Heather Merritt and her husband, Richard; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday February 27, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday February 28, 2016 at Gregory Memorial Presbyterian Church 6300 Courthouse Road Prince George VA, 23875 with interment to follow in Prince George Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
