Donald Clyde Hunter

Donald Clyde Hunter, 73, passed on Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an adoring Papa to his grandchildren. Don grew up in Prince George, VA, before joining the U.S. Marie Corps. After his service, Don returned to the Prince George-Hopewell area where he lived the remainder of his life. Don retired from Ashland (Hercules) after 42 years of dedicated work. He was a loyal member of Life Church, Hopewell, formerly Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, nearly all his life. He faithfully ran the sound board for services each Sunday for almost 50 years. Don was an avid hunter and angler, and he loved sharing that lifestyle with his children and grandchildren. He loved to joke and make others laugh. Don loved playing the guitar and would frequently make up songs and jingles. Though our hearts are broken, we know he is rejoicing with his Lord and Savior.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Hunter and Allen Johnson Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Judy Jackson Hunter; children, D.C., Adam (Heather), and Adrianne (Tim); grandchildren, Kaylee, Cheyanne, Kaleb, Sarah, Chase, Kaiden, and Addyson; brother, Dale (Kim); brothers-in-law, Warren (Adell), Keith (Tereasa), and Clarence (Joyce); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In honor of Don, the family will be wearing camouflage to the graveside service. Guests are encouraged to do so as well.
