Donald Clifford Bowers Sr.

Donald Clifford Bowers, Sr., 78, departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was the son of the late Charles and Mary Pollard Bowers. He was preceded in death by two sisters, and his son, Edward David Bowers, Sr. Mr. Bowers served our country in the U. S. Army for two years as a radio operator, retired from Allied Signal and continued as a HAM radio operator (WW4DB) throughout his life. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, American Legion of Hopewell Post 146, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Annie Virginia Keating Bowers; daughter, Debra A. Collins and husband, Ray; sons, Donald C. Bowers, Jr., and wife, Cheryl, Richard D. Bowers and wife, Celeste; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Simpson; and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Faith Baptist Church, 5501 Middle Road, Prince George, Va. 23875, with Rev. George Dembeck, officiating.
