Diane Ameen Newbern

Diane Ameen Newbern, 57, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013. Mrs. Newbern retired from General Motors as a graphic designer after 14 years of service. She was well known for her role as Peter Pan in the Hopewell production and Miss Hopewell in her senior year of High School. Diane loved Virginia Beach, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Hunt; sons, Jason Newbern and wife, Dorothee, Jeremiah Newbern, Justin Hunt and wife, Tricia; daughter, Andrea Hunt; grandchildren, Chloe, Leah, Jonah, Cedar; parents, David Ameen and wife, Clara; brothers, Richard Ameen and wife, Daryl Sue, David B. Ameen and wife, Betsy; sister, Cindy Welch and husband, Bo; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 505 Cedar Lane, Hopewell, Va. 23860. Interment will be private.
