Derrick Alan Morelock, 48, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. He worked at Honeywell for twenty-six years, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Derrick was a member of Colonial Hunt Club where he served as past president, was a loving man and father and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Jimmy R. and Barbara Summers Morelock; uncle, Charles D. “Sonny” Summers; wife, Lisa Morelock; daughter, Traci Hulsey and her husband, Nick; brothers, Jimmy D. Morelock and his fiancé, Toni, Mitchell Morelock and his girlfriend, Pam; nephew, Cory Morelock and his brother, Bryce Phillips, nephew, John Morelock and his fiancé, Elizabeth Carr; numerous extended family, friends and close personal outdoorsman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Hunt Club or the charity of your choice in his honor. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
