Derrick Alan Morelock

Derrick Alan Morelock, 48, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. He worked at Honeywell for twenty-six years, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Derrick was a member of Colonial Hunt Club where he served as past president, was a loving man and father and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Jimmy R. and Barbara Summers Morelock; uncle, Charles D. “Sonny” Summers; wife, Lisa Morelock; daughter, Traci Hulsey and her husband, Nick; brothers, Jimmy D. Morelock and his fiancé, Toni, Mitchell Morelock and his girlfriend, Pam; nephew, Cory Morelock and his brother, Bryce Phillips, nephew, John Morelock and his fiancé, Elizabeth Carr; numerous extended family, friends and close personal outdoorsman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
