Debra "Debbi" Williamson Williams

May 8, 1960 — November 24, 2025

Debra "Debbi" Williamson Williams, of Dinwiddie County, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends, and for the many lives she touched with her kindness and warmth.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Judy Cook Williamson. She is survived by her father, Ashland "Buddy" Williamson, of Dinwiddie; her daughter, Kaitlyn Williams, of Chester; her grandson, Tarren Zehm, of Chester; her partner, Rodney Perkinson, of Petersburg; her brothers, Bobby Williamson and wife, Sandra, of Dinwiddie and John Williamson and partner, Craig Sawin, of Massachusetts; nephews, Clayton Williamson, of Dinwiddie, and Evan Williamson and wife, Jessie, of Sussex; and much-beloved aunts, Carolyn Rawlings, of Chester, and Vera Moore, of Hopewell.

Debbi was raised in Hopewell, and remained part of an extended friendship network from her time there, and at Wesley United Methodist Church. As an IT specialist at Fort Lee, she served a vast number of military personnel with her keen insight, and comprehensive informational systems expertise. She was diligent, tireless, and a most accomplished colleague for her teams.

She, too, was an avid reader. Ever since her youth, Debbi could devour an entire book in a single day. Her library was vast, and her tastes in fiction wide-ranging. Debbi was also a prolific bowler. It was one of her passions, and you could easily find her on a Sunday night bowling competition advancing her team and league.

Also, Debbi possessed exceptional crocheting skills. She created some of the most brilliant, intricate, and complex patterned, heirloom-quality afghans, bed coverings, and blankets. Each one was unique, and her labyrinthine designs created stunning works of art which will be treasured for generations. Similarly, she was a maestro in the kitchen. For decades, Christmas day concluded with Debbi passing out a woven basket to each family member filled with culinary perfections that she and her friend Sandy had created. From canned peaches soaking in syrupy goodness with clove and cinnamon highlights, to decadent beets that were Blue Ribbon worthy. She could master any recipe from down-home goodness, to elevated cuisine.

Debbi was a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt as well as a partner, friend, and care-giver. She was a joyous pal, confidant, and an extremely generous and kind-hearted soul. She will be missed on a multitude of levels and will remain in the hearts of all of those who knew her goodness, warmth, and friendship.
