David Newton

December 9, 2011 Heaven gained a new Angel, David Craig â??Newkieâ? Newton, 63, of Colonial Heights. Born on August 22, 1948 in Petersburg, he is the son of the late William Roy and Madeline Wolfrey Newton. Newkie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Carol Newton; a daughter Tammy Lampman and husband Chris; three sons, David Newton, II and wife Leah, Jeff Amos and wife Amy, Steve Amos and wife Kelly; nine grandchildren, Madeline, Samantha, Justin, Jessica, Gabby, David Wayne, Angeleah, Little D and CJ; a sister Nancy West; two brothers Ronnie and Bobby Newton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Dr. John Tadlock officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. The family requests casual dress at the visitation and funeral service. We love you Pops!
