David L. Irvin, Sr.

David L. Irvin, Sr., of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 5, 2026.

David was born on December 4, 1949, and raised in Dinwiddie, Virginia; where he later resided with his wife, Teresa, and two children, Angie and Dave Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, S. Lee and Evelyn M. Irvin; brother, Garry G. Irvin; daughter, Angie Irvin Allen; mother-in-law, Mary G. Heath.

David was a loving and devoted father and husband, an avid hunter, an Army Reserves Veteran, and a member of Namozine Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in his garden, and with his family. David graduated from Dinwiddie High School in 1968, then went to work with Verizon (formerly C&P Telephone), and retired after 40 years of service. After retirement, he continued to work various part-time jobs until January 2025.

David is survived by his wife of 55 years, Teresa Irvin; son, David Irvin, Jr.; son-in-law, Troy Allen; grandchildren, Carson Irvin, Keeley Allen, and Jacob Booth; brother-in-law, Ronnie Heath; multiple nieces and nephews; and family pup, Elle.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with the funeral service following immediate after from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
