David Houchins Borum

David Houchins Borum, 72, of Arlington, VA, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. He was a native of Hopewell, VA and a graduate of Hopewell High School and the Richmond Professional Institute. Mr. Borum was a former Principal at James E. Mallonee School, as well as a retired Civil Service employee. He is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Elizabeth (Lib) Borum, long-time Hopewell residents. Mr. Borum is survived a daughter and granddaughter in Arlington, Robin and Emily Elizabeth Borum; as well as a son and daughter-in-law, Tyson and Jamie Borum, and grandchildren Mason and Caroline in Wilmington, NC. He is further survived by two sisters in Hopewell, Mrs. Ralph Collins (Dottie) and Mrs. Bishop Knott (Betty). A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring, a hospice facility, at 950 North Glebe Road, Arlington, VA, or to First Presbyterian Church, at 1107 West Broadway, Hopewell, VA.
