Danny C. Riddle

Danny C. Riddle, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024.

Born to the late Mary and JD Riddle; he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Deborah Harris Riddle.

After losing the love of his life, he was fortunate enough to find love again with Mary Sue Krout. We truly believe that this gave him the strength to move forward. Danny had a bachelor's degree, and retired from Allied Signal and Hopewell Public Schools, as an auto body teacher, but never retired from painting as the co-owner of Riddle Sign Co. He had special interest in cars/hot rods and anything paint related, music, and family. He was a proud member of the Hopewell Chamber of Commerce. Danny's work was recognized, being published in numerous magazines, and he was featured on national TV.

Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and mentor to many, who is survived by his daughter, Stefanie Riddle Neal (Jamie); son, Jimmy C. Riddle (Michele Harris Riddle "second daughter"); grandchildren, Abigail and Ella Neal, and Travis Riddle (Dulce) and Trevor Riddle; sisters, Susan Riddle Bishop (Casey) and Dianne Riddle Edwards (Aubrey); brothers-in-law, Fred Harris (Karen) and Ricky Harris (Carol); sister-in-law, Kathy Sutphin (David); as well as, Jeff, Timmy, Rodney, and Stacy Riddle, his cousins who held a special place in his heart; and Ricky Moon, a special family friend whom Danny cherished as his own son.

The family would like to welcome friends for a visitation on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11am, at the same location.
