Craig Randolph Russell Sr., 66, of Chester, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013. He was born on November 7, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Russell served in the U.S. Air Force. He also was a retired truck driver. Mr. Russell enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Brinkley Russell; and his father, Kenneth Russell Sr. and his wife, Virginia. Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Ellen Russell of Chester; children, Lynn Nelson of Hopewell, VA, Cheryl Russell of Harrisville, WV, and Craig R. Russell Jr. of Hopewell, VA; step-children, Gary Landes and his wife, Johnna of Prince George, VA, Jamie S. McFadden and her husband, Barry of McKenney, VA, Jack Miller and his wife, Mary of Prince George, VA; brothers, Kenneth Russell and his wife, Gloria of Charles City, VA, and Melvin Russell and his wife Donna, of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Nancy Brown and her husband, Fred of Hampton, VA, and A.Kathie Russell-Volante and her husband, Peter of Tampa, FL; brother-in-laws, Otho C. Robinson and his wife Marvel of Leasburg, NC, and David Robinson of Hopewell, VA; sister-in-laws, Ann Clayton of Rougemont, NC, and Katherine Hawkins and her husband, Lathan of Hurdle Mills, NC; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the residence of Jamie S. McFadden, 11915 Cutbank Church Road, McKenney, VA 23872.
