Clarence Rudolph Wells

WELLS, Clarence R. “Bucket”, 91, of Colonial Heights and Deltaville, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Caroline H. Wells. He is survived by his son, Richard H. Wells and his wife, Rhonda K. Wells of White Stone; grandchildren Michael J. Wells and wife, Diane of Fort Mills, S.C; and Linda Christine Wells of Powhatan; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman Eugene Wells; sister-in-law, Willnet H. Lockett, of Colonial Heights; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Wells was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. He was a 37 year retiree of C&P Telephone Company. Mr. Wells was a WWII veteran and served his country proudly in the Army. He was a member of Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284, the Bell Atlantic Pioneers, and a founding member of the Colonial Heights Sportsman Club. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service Petersburg Chapel from 6 to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highland United Methodist Church Bereavement Committee. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
