Clara Jozwiak Pito, 102 of Hopewell passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Mary A. Fabiszewski Jozwiak; husband Louis Pito; sisters, Annie Derski, Helen Price, Leona Leslie; brothers, Bernard Jozwiak, Alex Jozwiak, and Anton Jozwiak.In 1911 Mrs. Pito moved to Prince George County with her family where she would talk about the hard times on the farm and also the fun times she had with her brothers and sisters. During World War II, she worked at Fort Lee in the Ordinance Department repairing rifles from the front lines. She attended First Christian Church and was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign War. Mrs. Pito is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Pito; numerous nieces, nephews; a devoted friend and caregiver June Parker; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday May 9, 2013 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held 11am on Friday May 10, 2013 in Appomattox Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Lane, officiating.
