Charles William Martin Sr

Charles William Martin Sr, 82, of Prince George gained his angel wings Monday, October 19,2026. Born September 28,1944 in Reidsville, NC he was the son of the late Charles Scott Martin and Eileen Barber. A devoted Christian man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He faithfully served as a pastor and shared his gift of gospel music singing alongside his wife and granddaughter for many years. He was a man with a gift for fixing just about anything, from cars to lawn mowers and everything in between. There wasn't much he couldn't figure out with his hands, a little patience, and determination. He found joy in painting cars, fixing anything, sharing stories that could keep you listening for hours, and being with his family. He also appreciated life's simple pleasures, especially a slice of chocolate cake and a McDonald's cheeseburger. These little things, along with his stories, faith, heart, and talents, were a part of what made him so special and will be remembered by those who loved him.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Patricia Loving Martin, and grandson, Joshua Martin. He is survived by his children, Tonya Dayvault, Chris Martin, and Chad Martin; grandchildren, Heather, Ronnie Jr, Nicholas, Tiffany, Karrie, Chris Jr, Kasade'ann; great grandchildren, Dakota, Natalie, Lucas, Haylee, Easton, Anthony, Kayleigh, Gabryela, Isabella, Karley, McKenzye, Nahla, Xavier, and Zander; brother, Donnie Martin; forever family Ronnie Dayvault Sr.; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends, 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
