Charles Bruce Love

Charles Bruce Love, 58, of Chester, VA, passed away and gained his wings on May 21, 2025. He was an incredibly tough man and extremely hard worker. Charles was known to friends as Doc. He was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen Christine Love; daughters, Aschlynd Nicole Love and Jessa Christine Love; mother, Shirley Love; sister, Christina Love; as well as his dogs, Raven and Pepper. Although he appeared to have a gruff personality, he was one of the most caring, kind, and helpful men out there. In his free time, Charles enjoyed reading, fishing, and playing in weekly pool tournaments, as well as, playing pool and Golden Tee with his daughter. In true Love fashion, he had a Need for Speed. He worked in a power plant for almost 30 years, but he also served as the local mechanic to his friends on the side. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, "PaPa" Will Douglas Griggs and "Nanny" Elsie Beasley Griggs; his father, "DeDe" Benjamin Francis Love; his paternal grandparents, Frances DeFazio Love and "DaDa" Bennie Franklin Love; as well as his dogs, Rocki and Zara and many others whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2pm, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, followed by a gathering at Chester Junction.
