Charles “Charley” Lilly, Sr., 84 of Prince George County went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015. Charley was a member of the American Legion #146, VFW # 637, NRA, and the Hopewell Hunt Club. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy Lilly; daughter, Lois Adams (Gerald); son, Charles Lilly Jr. (Joyce); brother, David Lilly (Margaret) of West Virginia; sisters, Helen Ketcham (Charley) of Kansas and Faye Varriale of South Carolina; grandson Gerald “Dennis” Adams Jr. (Meredith); granddaughters, Rebecca Gormley (Michael), Elizabeth Morgan and Marie Lilly (Johnny); six great-grand children and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by father, Theodore Lilly; mother, Georgia Lilly and sister, Emma “Gay” Kline. Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service he was a general contractor, dedicated hunter and loved his dogs. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed and remembered lovingly.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at J.T. Morriss & Son in Hopewell. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester.
