Charles R. Hall

Charles R. Hall, of Chester, VA, died on December 15, 2025.

He was born in 1944, in Winchester, KY, and led a life defined by dedication, intellect, and service. A proud graduate of Clark County High School (class of 1961), he went on to serve his country with honor in the Untied States Air Force. After completing his service, he earned his degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1970, launching a distinguished career as a Computer Specialist with various Department of Defense organizations. He retired in 2002, after decades of committed public service.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra Hall; his parents, William and Beulah Hall; and his sister, Linda Sweet. He is survived by his daughters, Debray Sparkman (Tommy), of Chester, and Sherry Viar, of Chester; brother, Garland Hall (Shirley), of Mt. Sterling, KY; grandchildren, Ashley Tucker (John), of Richmond, VA, Daulton Sparkman (Sarah), of Chester, and Graysen Viar, of Chester; and great-great-grandchildren, Charlie Tucker, Graham Tucker, and Shea Tucker, of Richmond, VA.

Known for his methodical mind and quiet wit, Charlie brought the same thoughtful presence to his professional life as he did to his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy lives on in the laughter of his family and the values he instilled through a life well lived.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, from 5:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at the chapel, at 2:00p.m., with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, in Chester. Pallbearers will include Tommy Sparkman, Michael Lynch, John Tucker, Daulton Sparkman, Doug Patrick, and Joey Owens-Sturgill.
