Charles Wesley Brooks, of Hopewell, VA, passed December 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rebecca "Becky" Sears Brooks; his parents, John and Clara Brooks; and his sisters, Eleanor Holeman and Katherine Miller.
He is survived by daughter, Carol Bolyard (Tony); sons, Charles Brooks, Jr. (Michelle) and David Brooks (Nancy); grandchildren, Tiffany Morgan (Chris), Wesley Bolyard, Michael Brooks (Leah), Adam Brooks (Caroline), Erin Brooks, Spencer Lambert (Stefanee), Nathan Lambert, and Abigail Lambert; great-grandchildren, Charles Ryan Morgan, Nolan-Ann Morgan, Benjamin Brooks, Greyson Brooks, Ellie Lambert, and Tucker Lambert; and many cherished loved ones.
Charles spent 32 years devoted to Becky. She wore the britches, and he was a sturdy belt, supporting her all the way. He held her close to his heart after her passing and continued loving his family with the same devotion. He showed his unending love through his actions. Love was a quick phone call, birthdays at K & L, and attending any and every sporting event, dance recital, and concert. Charles loved the magic of Disney World, setting deeply in stone the tradition of summer trips to Florida. Even before it opened in 1972, Charles was eager to get his family to warmer weather and memorable trips. He was a devout follower of the Lord. He could always be counted on to send up prayers as a show of love-to something as big as clearing a stormy sky to green lights all the way home.
