Chang Soon Kim

Chang Soon Kim was born February 12, 1937, in Gimcheon-Si, South Korea, (Gyeongsang buk-do Province) to Sang Won Kim and Keum Kang.

He served in the military in South Korea, worked as a barber in his earlier years, and later transitioned into the role of a small business owner in Petersburg, VA. Chang loved to play golf, but above all else, he was a loving father, devoted husband, and faithful church member, even serving as an ordained deacon.

Chang is preceded in death by his parents, Sang Won Kim and Keum Kang; and his first wife, Jin Sook Kim/Kang (married for 42 years). Left to cherish his memory until they are reunited again include his loving wife, Soon-Ok Lee (married for 20 years); daughter, Jenny Oh (Joshua); son, HaYoon Kim (HyunKyung), son, Steve Kim (Cathy); grandson, David Oh (Jennifer); Paul Oh; granddaughter, Emily Kim; and grandson, Joshua Kim (Jay).

A service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Love First Church, 3030 River Rd., Prince George. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, at Fairfax Memorial Park. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
