Catherine "Cathy" Harris

Catherine "Cathy" Harris, 85, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family and friends that will be treasured forever.

Born and raised in Danville, VA, Cathy was a proud graduate of George Washington High School and later earned her cosmetology license. She embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Cathy had a vibrant spirit and a gift for making every gathering special. She truly was the life of the party and created countless cherished memories for those fortunate enough to know her.

Above all, Cathy was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, whose kindness, warmth, and wholehearted support touched many lives.

She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 65 years, Ronald T. Harris; her parents Cecil and Helen Sizer; and her brothers, Kenneth and Bobby Sizer.

Cathy's love and legacy will continue to live on through her sons, Scott Harris (Melisa) and Jeff Harris (Pamela); her cherished grandson, Trevor Harris; her sister, Linda DelPrince; her brother-in-law, Gerald Harris (Ola Mae); her niece, Melissa Ruffin (Robert); and her great-nephew and great-nieces, Dominic Shaw, Abrielle Shaw, and Jayda Ruffin; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

The family would like to thank all of those who shared Cathy's life and offered their love and support. While she will be deeply missed, her laughter, generosity, and the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

A funeral service for Cathy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Bermuda Memorial Park.

In keeping with Cathy's love of flowers, floral tributes are welcome. Those who prefer may make a memorial donation in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association .
