Byron F. Price

Byron F. Price, 90, of Midlothian, VA, formerly of Winding River in Bolivia, NC, passed away on October 3, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Bell Price; daughter, Melissa Gates; granddaughter, Connor Stafford (Matthew); and two great-granddaughters, Sydney & Hope.

Byron received his Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University and his Master of Science from University of Missouri in Columbia, MI. He belonged to the Alpha Chi Sigma, a professional fraternity dedicated to the sciences.

Byron was proud to serve both the Chesterfield, VA, and Southport, NC, communities as a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Kiwanis International for over 50 years and received the Hixson Fellow Award from the Kiwanis Club of Macon, GA, the highest honor one can achieve. He was the past president of the Chester, VA, Kiwanis Club and also served as a Lieutenant Governor for the Capital District. In North Carolina, he received a service fellowship as a member of the Southport Oak Island Club and participated in the Brunswick County Teen Court. Byron was an Eagle Scout and assistant Scout Master. He served as an Eagle Board Advisor and as District Commissioner for the Shawondosee District in Richmond.

In addition to Kiwanis and Boy Scouts of America, he was a member and past president for the Cape Fear Orchid Society and a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. Byron enjoyed golf, going to the symphony, and growing orchids.

Interment will be private. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
