Brenda Almarode Hudson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Almarode Hudson, 69, of Littleton, NC. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of the late Otis E. and Vera E. Almarode. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald C. Almarode; and her devoted husband of 43 years, William E. Hudson III. Brenda was admired for her role as the matriarch of the Hudson and McCracken families. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Christine H. McCracken; her son, Justin W. Hudson (Sarah); and her two stepsons, William E. Hudson IV (Sandra) and Bradley C. Hudson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amber, Emily (Chris), Samantha, and Jacob (Ellie) McCracken, Colby and Dylan Hudson, Jansen, Hunter, Logan, Travis, Trevor, Hannah, and Ryan Hudson; and her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Amadeus, Olivia, Paisley, Oliver, and Annalise. Brenda is further survived by her sisters, Kathie S. Pizzullo (Rick) and Gloria J. Jones (Kenny); as well as a niece and several nephews. Those who knew her will remember how she shared her father's and brother's passion for fishing, and it is something she continued to pass down to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren while living in a Lake Gaston community. Her love for horses, hummingbirds, and gardening are legacies her family will cherish, along with the many memories made together. The family will celebrate Brenda's life on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, and in tribute to her love for animals, donations may be made to your local Humane Society.
