Brenda Allison Geisz, age 67, of Prince George County, passed away on Monday, May 06, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of Marion C. Allison and the late Arthur K. Allison. She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas O. Allison. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Henry W. Geisz; two sons, Jeffrey W. Geisz and wife, Lisa, and Gregory D. Geisz and wife, Lynne, and four grandchildren, Stephen and Faith Geisz, and Cameron and Bronwyn Baumgardner. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Marion S. Beazley; two brothers, Larry Allison and wife, Nancy, and Rodney Allison and wife, Debbie, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She attended Richard Bland College and was a former vice-president and mortgage loan underwriter for Virginia Commonwealth Bank for over 30 years. Brenda was very active in her community and was a member of the Petersburg Jaycettes, Petersburg Heart Fund and the Junior Federated Women’s Club. For her work with children with disabilities and other civic projects, she was named the Outstanding Woman of the Year in 1977 for the tri-city area. Brenda loved spending time at the Piankatank River with family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved to watch the birds on her feeders, read, dance, ride her jet ski and mornings at the river. She was truly loved by everyone she met. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9th at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Christ & Grace Episcopal Church, 1545 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA 23803, with The Reverend David H. Teschner, Rector, officiating.
