Brenda Pat Dingas

Brenda Pat Griffin Dingas, 80, of Prince George, Virginia, passed away in Colonial Heights, Virginia, on September 17, 2026, following a three-year battle with cancer.

Born on May 12, 1946, Brenda was a lifelong resident of Prince George. She was raised on the Griffin Farm by her parents, Patrick Snow Griffin and Alpha Omega "Meg" Callis Griffin.

Brenda was married to Thomas George "Tommie" Dingas for 59 years. She worked as a kindergarten aide at Bollingbrook and St. Joseph's schools, where her love for children was evident to everyone who knew her. She was also a lifelong member of Gary's United Methodist Church, served as a youth group leader, and was a member of United Methodist Women.

Known affectionately as Yaya, Brenda was a loving grandmother and was cherished by the many children whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Tommie; her daughters, Tracey Dingas Allen and her husband, Andrew Allen, and Teresa Dingas Williams and her husband, Jason Williams; and her grandchildren, Wyatt Allen, Griffin Williams, and Clara Williams. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Snow Griffin and Alpha Omega Callis Griffin; her daughter, Tammie Michele Dingas; and her sister, Mary Etta Kanusek.

Brenda remained deeply connected to her extended family, including the close-knit Callis family. She was also deeply loved by Andrew's and Jason's families, who remained close to her throughout her life.

Brenda's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her longtime friends, Judy Edwards, Mary Drumright, Janice Crutchfield, and Jean Janeka, who visited her often, and Betty Schluckebier, with whom she shared frequent phone conversations. Their friendship, comfort, and companionship meant so much to Brenda throughout her illness. The family also extends its gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Dunlop House, whose kindness and care meant so much to Brenda and her family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00p.m., with a reception afterward. Burial will take place at Southlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:00a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gary's United Methodist Church.
