Brandon Lee Childers, 27, of Dinwiddie, Virginia, passed away on June 3, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Brandon was raised between Maryland and Dinwiddie, Virginia. Brandon was the beloved son of Melissa and Carl "John" Childers; and a proud son, brother, uncle, and friend. Brandon loved deeply and fiercely; he was a natural protector whose loyalty and devotion to those he cared about knew no bounds.
Brandon found his greatest joy outdoors, whether he was spending time in the woods, working on cars, or playing catch with his niece and nephews. Brandon embraced every moment with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. He was always the first to offer a helping hand to someone in need, never hesitating to put others before himself.
An exceptionally gifted athlete, Brandon excelled at nearly everything he set his mind to. He approached life with courage and determination, never backing down from a challenge. That fearless spirit, combined with his unwavering love for family and friends, made him seem invincible in the eyes of those who knew and loved him.
Brandon was preceded in death by his uncle, Timothy Davist Childers, Sr.; cousin, Timothy Davist Childers, Jr.; and his grandparents, Ronnie Fisher, Linda Faye Childers, and Carl Danny Childers.
Brandon is survived by his grandmother, Mitzie Buchanan (Ricky); his parents, Melissa and Carl "John" Childers; his brothers, Carl Childers (Brittany), Zachary Childers (Kira), and Ethan Childers; his nephews, Bentley Childers, Carl Childers III, and Kohen Childers; and his niece, Aubreigh Childers. He is also survived by his aunts, Michelle Beach (Michael), Carolyn Henshaw (Curtis), Tanya Neyer, and Rachel Nealy (Milton); his uncle, James Scherer; and many loving cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday June 12, 2026 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026 starting at 12:00pm at Western Heights Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA.
Though his time with us was far too short, Brandon's strength, generosity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
