Bobby Gene Mooring

Bobby Gene Mooring, 68, of Disputanta, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015. Born in Pitt County, NC, he was the son of the late Leo Lester and Shirley Jones Mooring. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Mooring. Bobby was an active and faithful member of Unity Baptist Church in Prince George. He had a passion for gardening, but most importantly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters, Mia Mobley and her husband, Shane, Erin Shepherd and her husband, Lee, and Mandy Balagot and her husband, Laurence; son, Kyle Mooring and his wife, Shannon; eight grandchildren, Dillon, Miles, Brandon, Katy, Lucas, Bryson, Vivian, and Collin; sister, Ruby Walston; brother, L.L. Mooring; and numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Unity Baptist Church, 4951 Mt. Sinai Rd. Prince George, VA 23875. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Good News Club at Unity Baptist Church.
