Bobbie Deshaies

Bobbie Yancey Deshaies, 89, of Hopewell, VA, passed away January 19, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Harriet Cox Yancey and Robert B. Yancey; also preceding her in death her loving husband of over 50 years, Joseph R. Deshaies, Sr.; sister, Gertrude Lingerfelt and husband, Clarence; sister, Drexel Mosley and husband, Jack; and her brother, J. Wesley Yancey and wives, Rosa and Evelyn. She is survived by her son, Joseph "Joe" Deshaies, Jr.; niece, Debbie Mosley and husband, Robert; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her; best friend, Katherine Proffitt, who she was lifelong friends with. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her neighbors and her caregivers, and especially her friend, Katherine, for all thoughts and prayers. A Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church, in Hopewell, 510 W. Poythress St. Hopewell, VA 23860. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Bobbie can be made to the Hopewell Humane Society.
