Betty Schultz Harrison

September 5, 1923 — August 3, 2025

Betty Schultz Harrison, 101, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on August 3, 2025. Born in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dorothy Schultz. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, John R. Harrison, Sr.; her son, John R. Harrison, Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Erica Ruis.

Betty attended the Moody Bible Institute and served as the Music Director for West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, VA, for many years. She found fulfillment in Bible study, the church choir, and needlework. She was a beautiful example of a Godly woman to all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish Betty's memory are her daughters, Patricia H. Hayes (Ben) and Rebecca H. Whitesides; her grandchildren, Gayle Molinaro (Louie), Amy Markins (Richard), Bryan Hayes (Becca), Sandy Whitesides (Kristin), Russell Whitesides (Nicole), Tony Whitesides, Angela Ruis (Johnnie), Jason Harrison (Vada), and Cary Harrison (Sara); and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Betty will be held at West End Presbyterian Church in Hopewell on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11:00am, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Betty's memory to West End Presbyterian Church, 1600 Atlantic Street, Hopewell, VA 23860.
