Bessie Midgett

Bessie Mae Midgett, age 92, of Hopewell, VA, died on Sunday, December 31, 2006. She was born in Pitt County, NC, and had lived in the Hopewell area since 1967. She had attended the Assembly of God Church in Hopewell. Surviving are her six children, Joseph Padgett of Roanoke, VA, Gene Padgett of Pennsylvania, Nell Conney of Chesapeake, VA, Jerry Midgett of Chester, VA, and Robert and Johnny Midgett, both of Hopewell; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Hopewell on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow there on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., with interment in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA.
