Barbara Marks Purdie

Barbara Marks Purdie, 67, of Petersburg, VA passed away on May 1, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Pauline Marks. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Morris R. Purdie; daughters, Tonya Gregory (Thomas) and Kimberly McCann (Earl); grandchildren, Stacey, Zachary and Ethan; great grandchildren, Anyshia, Tashon and Jaxon; brother, Wayne Marks (Brenda); sister, Brenda Wrubel (John); sister-in-law, Diane Aliceburg (Gene); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Mrs. Purdie retired from Beneficial Finance Company with over 40 years of faithful service. Barbara was a giving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved helping people and never met a stranger. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
