Barbara Ayscue Porach

Barbara Ayscue Porach, 84, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025. Born February 15, 1941, and raised in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Ayscue and Myrtle G. Ayscue. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 40 years, James J. Porach; and two brothers, Carl and Curtis Ayscue. She is survived by her two children, Kelly J. Beeler (Tim) and James B. Jean, Jr. "Jay" (Karin); three granddaughters, Toni J. Wright (Benny), Samantha J. Jean, and Rachel N. Beeler; one grandson, Cody J. Beeler; two precious great-grandchildren, Adalyn B. Wright and Chase J. Wright; sister, Marlene A. Wood; sister-in-law, Claire Herrington, as well as many special nieces and nephews; many thanks to two wonderful family members - Betsy Wood and Allie Cullen for helping to care for her during her final days,

Barbara was a member of The Heights Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. She enjoyed volunteering with Crater Community Hospice, various local food banks, and other organizations. Her beauty and talent led to her being chosen as Miss Dinwiddie and Miss Petersburg in her teenage years.

Barbara was a woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and quiet strength brought comfort to her family and friends throughout her life. Her legacy of kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ronald West with The Heights Baptist Church will be officiating.
