Barbara Higginbotham

Barbara Peele Higginbotham, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born to the late Wilbert and Gertrude Peele in Richmond, VA.

She loved her garden and spent many hours in the sun and rain. She was a master gardener and volunteered her services to Chesterfield County for many years. She loved to work hard and she retired first from the Federal Government after 38 years of service, and then again from Kroger where she worked in the Floral Department. The love of her life was her pet dachshund, Pickles, who was fondly remembered by her.

She is survived by her children, Kirk Higginbotham, Jason Higginbotham and Jason's long-term girlfriend, Jamie Owens; her grandchildren, Steven Thomas (Brandi), Trinity Higginbotham, and Hayden Higginbotham; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Hannah Thomas.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11 AM, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior. Interment will follow across the street at Sunset Memorial Park.
