Barbara Daniel

We are sad to share the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Daniel, age 93, who passed away at home on February 10, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Oakland Baptist Church, Disputanta, Virginia. Visitation is from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM followed by her service. Burial will be in South Boston, Virginia at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jackie Terry, Scott Daniel (Donna), Carol Clark (Mark), and John Daniel; her 11 grandchildren who she loved dearly, Chris Williams, Stephen Williams (Kim), Andy Daniel (Sara), Todd Daniel (Amanda), Adam Daniel (Elizabeth), Michael Andrews, Ashley Daniel, Mallory Daniel, Lane Daniel, Bryan Clark (Sarah), and David Clark. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was born in Meredith, New Hampshire. She was a United States Navy Veteran and made history as the first woman allowed to play taps at a veteran's funeral and raise and lower a flag at her Newport, RI base. She loved the Lord and was active in church, singing in the choir, working with children at Vacation Bible School, and many other activities throughout the years. She had great joy in cooking and feeding everyone. She retired from Allied Chemical, Chesterfield, VA in Accounts Payable after many loyal years. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and love she showed to her family, friends, and strangers. Barbara was truly a gift and a mom to all. She laughed a lot and her favorite saying was "Oh Good Glory."

We are thankful and blessed to call her our mom and her friends feel blessed to have known her. She will be truly missed.
