Arva Jean Heath

June 9, 1933 — February 7, 2014

Arva Jean Heath, 80, of Dinwiddie County, widow of Calvin Bernard Heath, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. Born in Muskogee, OK she was the daughter of the late Isom and Libbie Rozell Raney. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Raney and Garland Raney. Mrs. Heath was a member of West End Baptist Church and a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company. During her year-long stay at Dinwiddie Health & Rehab Center, she enjoyed reading on her Kindle and became an avid bingo player. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hayes (Loren) of Dinwiddie. She was known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren, Chris Laughlin (Maggie), Vicky Oldmixon (Scott), and Elizabeth Holland (Danny), and her great-grandchildren, Anthony Laughlin, Rheanna Laughlin, Makenzie Laughlin, Madison Lewis, Christopher Beazley, Colleen Oldmixon, and Josh Oldmixon. She is also survived by a brother, Tom Lynch, and three sisters, Linda Robison (Dean), Ruth Medlock (Andy), and Joan Raney. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11th at Blandford Cemetery with The Reverend Tim Brendle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dinwiddie Volunteer Fire & EMS Station 1, P.O. Box 181, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son.
