Arleen L. Moore, 86, Hopewell, died Monday, November 5, 2012, in Colonial Heights following an extended period of declining health. She was born in Bailey, NC, and was a resident of Hopewell since 1948. Mrs. Moore was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she taught First Grade Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pattie Jane Langston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Paul J. Moore; sister, Eula Brantley; and aunt, Annie Bell Pace. Surviving are her two sons, Joseph P. Moore and his wife, Lorraine, of Hopewell, and Bennie R. Moore and his wife, Shirl, of South Chesterfield; her grandchildren, Kara Godfrey and husband Tim, Marcus Moore and wife Diana, Christina Lawson and husband Corey, Samantha Moore, Nicole Dibling-Moore, Chip Dibling-Moore, Kyrie Dibling-Moore, Stephani Moore, and Jonathan Moore; her great grandchildren, Hailey and Shelby Godfrey, Dalton and Mayleigh Moore, and Corbin Lawson; a sister, Faye Williams, of Greensboro, NC; and her niece, Sandra Dail, of Raleigh, NC. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell, officiated by Dr. Robert K. Breckenridge. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Hopewell Optimist Club.
