It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Archie Linwood "Bud" Nace, Jr., who left this world on July 21, 2026, in Prince George, Virginia, at the age of 79. Born on August 27, 1946, in Virginia, Archie lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a spirit of community that touched the lives of many.

Archie was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed the camaraderie of playing softball, baseball, and golf throughout his life. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Barbara Johnson Nace, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Together, they created a warm and loving family that will cherish his memory forever.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Daniel Nace and wife, Mary Beth Nace; his daughter, Karen Nace Howe and husband, Chuck K. Howe, Jr.; as well as grandchildren, Christopher Nace, Brittany Nace, Jason Nace, Houston Shifflett, Cole Howe, Kyle Howe, and Rachel Nace. Archie was also a proud great-grandfather to Chyenne Guthrie and Luna Howe Rios.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Archie Nace, Sr., and his beloved wife, Barbara. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment, and memories that will live on through his family.

An Associate's Degree graduate of the Richmond Professional Institute, Archie retired after 52 years of dedicated service to Stone Container/Rock 10. His contributions to the industry and his strong work ethic were a testament to his character.

In remembrance of Archie Nace, a visitation will be held at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held in the same chapel on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

As we gather to honor this gentle soul, we reflect on the joy he brought to our lives and the countless memories he leaves behind. Archie Nace will be truly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
