Alyce Lucille O'Connor

Alyce Lucille O'Connor passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, surrounded by her closest loved ones. Born in California to the late Max and Mary Potter, Alyce eventually made her home in Chester, VA, where she built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and service.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Michael O'Connor; her children, Tim (Bryanna), Ryan (Baylee), and Erin (Ty); her cherished grandchildren, Graeson and Audrey; and her siblings, Kirby and Mary (Mark); along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A dedicated member of Southside Church, Alyce found great joy in serving as a teacher, helping guide children in their walk with Jesus. She earned her BSN from East Carolina University and worked for many years as a bedside nurse before transitioning into employee health, where she continued to care for others with her gentle strength and compassion.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Hopewell, VA. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.

Alyce's legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering love will be remembered always by those blessed to have known her.
