Alvin Benson “Mug” Curtis, 84, formerly of Hopewell, passed away on May 8, 2015 in the comfort of his home in Farnham, VA. He was the son of the late Linwood Leslie and Myrtle Reynolds Curtis. “Mug” was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eldridge “Beadie” Curtis, who passed in February 2014, and Leslie “Ray” Curtis, who passed in December 2014. “Mug” was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a Carpenter by trade and a political enthusiast by nature. His favorite past time was fishing along the coast of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Curtis; daughter, Debra Lynne Curtis (Stuart); granddaughter, Amanda Nichole Gunn; great-granddaughter, Makayla Rebecca Mae Trader; sister, Kay Williams (Earl); and two sisters-in-law, Opal Curtis and Genny Curtis; brothers-in-law, Raymond Fleetwood (Charlotte) and Donald Fleetwood; three nieces, Donna, Michelle, and Adrienne; a nephew, Kevin; and other extended family members.
