Alexa Hawkins Westfall, 59, of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at her residence. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Alexander V. and Lois Mayfield Hawkins. Alexa was a member of Colonial Christian Church, The Social Order of the Beauceant – Assembly No. 266, the Colonel John Banister Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of the Confederacy – Petersburg Chapter No. 155. She is survived by her husband, Joseph P. Westfall, Jr.; their children, Joseph “Pat” Westfall, III and wife, Stefanie, June W. Jennings and husband, Dewey, and John R. Westfall and wife, Valerie; grandchildren, Joseph P. Westfall, IV, Tucker L. Westfall, Patricia R. Westfall, John W. Kimbriel, David R. Kimbriel, and Valarie L. Westfall; sisters, Joan H. Slater and Leta H. Brunner and husband, George; sister-in-law, Joan J. Westfall, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 11th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Little and Rev. Roddy Chestnut officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
