Alan Keith Blaha

Alan Keith Blaha, 66, of Colonial Heights, VA, passed away on July 21, 2026. Born in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of Louis J. Blaha, Jr., and the late Shirley Zuskin Blaha. In addition to his mother, Keith was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Emil and Lillian Zuskin; paternal grandparents, Louis Sr. and Margaret Cerny Blaha, his uncles, David Zuskin and Alvin Blaha; cousin, Cindy Blaha.

In addition to his father, Louis Blaha (Thelma), Keith is survived by the love of his life, Terry Nance; son, Keith R. Bosher (Nancy); grandson, Keith D. Bosher (Hannah) ; granddaughter, Melinda Bosher; sister, Gail Shelley (Randy) and Patty Moody; nephews, R.J. Shelley (Erica), Jackson Moody (Catherine), David Shelley (Jenna); and niece, Alyssa Smith (Ben); ten great-nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and cherished friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dewey, Doug, John, Keith B. (Bucket), Mark, Ricky, Steve, and Todd for their steadfast friendship and care during Keith's illness.

Keith spent many years as a skilled craftsman for Colonial Heights Public Schools. He was an expert mechanic, building engines for his cousin (brother) Steve's racecars. He was also a certified diesel mechanic at Cummins for 20 years before becoming a skilled craftsman for Colonial Heights Public Schools.

Keith's life revolved around his family and friends. You could always find him enjoying nature --hunting, fishing, boating, or out working on trucks -- with those closest to him. Keith loved being at the beach, cooking burgers on the grill or indugling in grape snowballs or bear claws from the Gingerbread House in Hatteras. Keith will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 11am with a visitation one hour prior at 10am. A reception to follow the service will be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Alan Blaha can be made to VCU Massey Cancer Center (1001 E.
