Aaron “Floogie” Eugene Walker 83, of Hopewell, passed away on Friday December 12, 2014. He is preceded in death by his loving wife whom he loved to travel and shop with, Marian Buyalos Walker. Floogie was a graduate of Hopewell High School where he played football as a running back and went undefeated and won 3 state championships. He also played for the Florida State Seminoles, and was an all-around amazing athlete. Floogie was a Korean War Veteran and served his country proudly in the Army. He retired from VDOT after thirty-one years of service, and also sung in the Tobacco Land Chorus. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Salyer and her husband, Michael; stepdaughter, Sheila Miller and her husband, Steve; stepsons, Geary Hancock and his wife, Eileen, Scott Hancock and his wife, Ginger, Brian Hancock, Lance Hancock and his wife, Tammy, Barry Hancock, and his wife, Tammy; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; niece, Tammy Cox; great nephew, Jacob Taylor; great nieces, Olivia Cox, and Sydney Cox. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday December 14, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday December 15, 2014 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
