    Rose Marie Harris

    November 16, 1942 - February 11, 2022

Rose Marie Harris, born on November 16, 1942, departed this life on earth to be with the Lord eternally on Saturday, February 11, 2022. Rose Marie Harris was born and raised in Hopewell, VA to the late Willie C. Bryant and Macy Gregory. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dempsey; brother, James Bryant; and sister, Edna Strawberry. Rose attended Hopewell Public Schools. She worked at American Filtrona Corporation as a linesman for 34 years until her retirement. Rose accepted God at a young age and had a strong relationship with God. Rose loved the Lord and always put God first in her life. Rose loved life to the fullest. She was a very loving, caring person and was full of joy and laughter. Rose's favorite store was the Dollar Tree. She would shop in Dollar Tree and was like a kid in a candy store. Rose understood the importance of family. Rose's life on earth is over, but her memories will be cherished forever. Rose is survived by one son, Billy Joe Harris; one devoted daughter, Sherry Evans (devoted son-in-law, George Evans); and one special granddaughter, Gabrielle Evans. Rose also took on Alicia Quivers as a daughter for several years, as Alicia held a special place in Rose's heart. Rose also is survived by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends at J.T. Morriss & Son - Hopewell Chapel, 820 W. Broadway, on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road, N. Prince George, VA 23860. Condolences may be registered to the family at www.jtmorriss.com.
