    Richard Deale Bennett

    April 6, 1952 - March 4, 2022

Richard Deale Bennett, 69, of Prince George, VA died March 4, 2022. Born and raised in Hopewell, VA, he was the son of the late Ralph Ernest and Malene Warthan Bennett. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired after 37 years from Hercules, in Hopewell, VA, starting his career in the packroom and finishing as Safety Manger for the facility. He never met a stranger, and loved to talk about politics and the events of the day. He loved racing, music, and was an avid Cardinals fan, but more than anything loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Erin Rebekah Bennett McKinzie. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Renee Hartsfield Bennett; brother, Allen Craig Bennett; sons, Ryan Deale Bennett and Sean Michael Bennett; stepdaughters, Katherine Carroll Weiss and Kellie Suzanne Weiss; three grandsons, Austin Bryant Mckinzie, Brayden Michael Carroll and Jase Austin Carroll. At Rick's request, no visitation or funeral will be held - instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for friends and family - his wish was to be celebrated with food, music, laughter, and stories. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lucy Corr Village Skilled Nursing for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
