    Madeline Milwee Montgomery

    June 17, 1934 - August 16, 2021

Madeline Montgomery, 87, of Prince George, VA, passed away peacefully August 16, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Fayette Milwee; both of her sisters, Betty Ramsbottom and Pauline Sexton; and both of her husbands, Grover Lee Sr. and Roger Montgomery. She married her long-time love and friend, Grover Lee, who preceded her in death by 66 years. She bore his son soon after his death, Grover Lee, Jr., who she loved dearly. Later, she married again, this time to a loving husband of 35 years, Roger Montgomery. Madeline was a hard worker. Her sewing, cooking canning and gardening were all a part of who she was. Madeline loved gardening and worked the seeds that she planted all the way to the table. She produced hundreds of jars of green beans, jams, jellies, pickled corn and tomatoes, to name a few. She will be sorely missed and survived by her aunt, Betty Hale; brother, Fred “Bud” Milwee; children, Grover Lee, Jr. and wife, Carol, and Edward “Eddie” Montgomery; sister-in-law, Betty Milwee; and a grandson, Nathan Lee. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at J.T. Morriss & Son - Hopewell Chapel. Condolences can be registered online at www.jtmorriss.com.
